The product

Back to the roots: For many people »OLI-NATURA Boiled Linseed Oil« is the most original and most beautiful way to naturally protect wood in interior and exterior areas. It is produced in a gentle cooking process exclusively from cold-pressed linseed oil and 0.4 % drying agents. After hardening, the coating forms a clear, honey-coloured and water-repellent protective layer, which is called Firnis.

Those who choose the green and vegan Boiled Linseed Oil want a coating that is harmless to humans and animals without harming nature. It can be used without hesitation on panelling, doors, furniture and worktops made of wood. »OLI-NATURA Boiled Linseed Oil« is even perfectly suitable for the treatment of children's toys and objects that come into contact with food.

The boiled linseed Oil  is best applied with a cotton cloth or brush so that the entire surface is wetted with a shiny finish. After a short reaction time the wet oil remaining on the surface is simply removed with a lint-free cloth. This process can be repeated several times until the wood no longer absorbs any varnish or the desired appearance is achieved.

»OLI-NATURA Boiled Linseed Oil« is a natural product that needs time to harden completely. But before a tree becomes a piece of furniture, many decades pass. Many trees often have more than a hundred years on their back until they become a cupboard, table or chair. For this reason alone, some patience should be invested in surface treatment.

Especially light woods get a pleasant honey tone. The natural look and the velvety feel invite you to look and touch.

Quality

The production of »OLI-NATURA Boiled Linseed Oil« for the protective treatment of wood is based on centuries-old knowledge and traditions. Of course it does not contain any solvents, aromatics, preservatives or compounds containing lead or cobalt.

The cured material is harmless to humans, animals and plants, complies with DIN EN 71-3 (safety of toys) and DIN 53160 (saliva and perspiration fastness) and can be used without hesitation on wooden surfaces that come into contact with food.

In addition to their comfortable appearance, wooden furniture treated with linseed oil varnish also creates a good room atmosphere. The wood can breathe, its pores remain open. It can absorb moisture from the air and release it again when the room air is dry.

The »OLI-NATURA Boiled Linseed Oil« hardens by means of the oxygen contained in the air. Depending on air humidity and temperature, the oil needs three weeks to harden completely. The drying process can be recognized by the characteristic linseed oil smell. Either it is "love at first sight" or you turn up your nose. But the smell is completely harmless and disappears when the oil has hardened.
