STYLISHLY DARK

10.08.2016

Elegance and naturalness united in sophisticated craftsmanship: The Schwanewede (Lower Saxony / Northern Germany) based stair manufacturer Belz, known for its first-class craft, shows his latest project: a smoked oak staircase with a finish of OLI-NATURA Project Oil.

The staircase seems to float magically – a masterpiece of modern architecture. The deeply penetrating natural oil, which is approved by the German approval body for non-regulated construction products (DIBt) gives the object an elegant appearance and meets highest demands on wear resistance and low maintenance at the same time. It thus makes an all positive impression on the stair manufacturer: “OLI-NATURA Project Oil was easy to apply and penetrated into the wood smoothly and evenly. The open-pore look and feel is convincing. The wood looks fantastic and has a warm and silky touch.”

Easy application

The finely sanded staircase was finished with OLI-NATURA Project Oil before installation: two coats with a total of 60 g/sqm were applied thinly and evenly. The first coat was rolled on with 40 g/sqm, and worked in with a green pad after a 20 minutes’ residence time until the surface appeared matt. The second coat with 20 g/sqm was polished by hand with a white pad.

Quick reconditioning

A complementary care concept guarantees for a long life and sustainability of the surface. The staircase can be reconditioned anytime by using OLI-NATURA Wood Care Oil. If mopped up regularly with OLI-NATURA Wood Soap, the surface remains clean and refills its oil depot. Smaller defects can easily be sanded and partially re-oiled.
