The product

OLI-FINISH wood glazes are easy-to-use, transparent coloured and decorative solvent-based thin-film glazes for exterior woodwork. They are especially suited for non-planar wood constructions like fences or pergolas. The wood glaze does not only beautify the wood, it also protects it against weathering (humidity and UV radiation). Due to the deliberate omission of fungicides, OLI-FINISH Wood glazes can be used both for exterior and interior wood.

Application description

50-80 g/m² per job | 1 liter equals 6-10 m² with 2 jobs

free of pentachlorophenol (PCP) and lindane (HCH)

Surface preparation:

The surface must be dry, thoroughly cleaned and free of oil, wax, grease, silicon and sanding dust.
Wash or brush off resinous, sticky and greasy spots with nitro-cellulose thinner.
For use in the interior: graded wood sanding with grit 80/100 enhances the surface quality significantly. The finer the sanding, the lesser the wood roughens.

Setup recommendations:

New finish:

Apply material onto the raw wood with approx. 50-80 g/sqm.
After overnight drying, apply a second coat with approx. 50-80 g/sqm.
Medium and dark colour shades are particularly hardwearing.

Renovation finish:

Sand down closed-pore finishes entirely to the bare wood and proceed as described under ‘New finish’.
Open-pore and well-preserved aged coatings should be cleaned first. Then apply one to two coats of OLI-FINISH undiluted. If the existent colour shade of the wood is to be preserved, use a wood glaze that is a degree lighter in colour.
